Well Known Woman Dies

Seldom is a community shocked as were the people here when the death of Mrs John Mullen was announced March 20th.

Margaret McMenimen was born in Franklin county and joined John Mullen in wedlock about seventeen years ago.

The young couple went to housekeeping near town here. Devoted to her husband, four children and the cares of the household, Mrs. Mullen's life ran on in an uninterrupted course of happiness, having one end in view, the welfare of her own, whose childish music was always sunshine to her soul.

The funeral took place from St. Patrick's church Monday morning. Solemn high mass was celebrated.
Father Whelan of Rockford delivered the funeral sermon, in itself a masterpiece or oratory.
He gave to Mrs. Mullen the tributes she richly deserved, and besides being a model wife and mother, she was also a devout member of the Catholic Church.

The sympathy of all the people go out to John Mullen and children in the loss they have sustained and this sympathy is deep and heartfelt.
