December 10, 1995Colleen Kay Broome, 35, of Mason City, died Friday (Dec. 8, 1995) at North Iowa Mercy Health Center.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 12, 1995, at Fullerton Patterson James Funeral Chapel, 123 Second St. S.E. The Rev. James E. Albertson, retired pastor of Friendship Haven, Fort Dodge, will officiate. Burial will be in Elmwood-St. Joseph Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday at the funeral chapel. Memorials may be given to the Colleen Kay Broome Memorial Fund.
Thirty-five year old Colleen Kay Broome was born on Feb. 1, 1960, in Mason City, the daughter of Duane and Janice (Albertson) Broome. Colleen attended schools in Mason City and Rock Valley. Due to a serious illness in 1979, at the age of 19, Colleen moved to Sioux City for long term dialysis treatment. In Sioux City, she attended the Concordia Lutheran Church and worked at WACO.
With the opening of the dialysis center in Mason City, Colleen moved to Nora Springs and lived with her mother, and just recently moved to Mason City. Colleen was employed by North Iowa Vocational Center.
She loved square dancing, music, crafts and especially family gatherings.
Colleen will be dearly missed by her mother, Janice Broome of Nora Springs; one sister, Debby and her husband, Clarence Billick of Staten Island, N.Y.; one brother, Wayne and his wife, Julie of Mason City; one nephew, Shane, and five nieces, Cymbria, Tessa, Tammy, Jamie and Cassie Jo.
