CLEAR LAKE --- Mary Jane Braheny, 83, of Clear Lake, died Thursday (Nov. 30, 1995) at North Iowa Mercy Health Center East, Mason City.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, with Monsignor Joseph J. Slepicka officiating. Burial will be in Clear Lake Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 9 a.m. Monday at Ward-Van Slyke Colonial Chapel, 101 N. Fourth St. The family suggests memorials be made in her name.

Mary Jane was born April 29, 1912, in Clear Lake, the daughter of Cecil and Stella (Finnegan) Watts. She graduated from Clear Lake High School. On May 30, 1943, she was united in marriage to James Carroll Braheny in Forest City. He preceded her in death on Sept. 8, 1991.

She enjoyed helping people and was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church.

Survivors include her daughter, Joan Claesgens of St. Paul, Minn.; three grandchildren, Paul Claesgens and his wife, Martha; Thomas Claesgens and his wife, Renee, and Kathryn Claesgens, all of St. Paul, Minn.; and two great-grandchildren, Lena Paulsen and Joseph Claesgens.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and son-in-law, Roger Claesgens.
