FORT COLLINS, Colo. — Robert C. Bailey, 69, of Fort Collins, Colo., went to be with Jesus on Monday, May 10, 2004. He died of complications following a stroke.

A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Allnutt Funeral Service, 650 W. Drake Road, Fort Collins, Colo., with Pastor Darren Fred officiating. A private burial will be held at Grandview Cemetery in Fort Collins. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the Allnutt Funeral Service.

Bob was born in Mason City, Iowa, on April 11, 1935, to Lester and Blanche (Nelson) Bailey. He graduated from Mason City High School and from Greenville College in Illinois, where he received a BA in education. While at Greenville, he met his wife, Myrtle White.

He was an elementary teacher for 34 years. His students were very special to him. He was a charter member of the Free Methodist Church in Bellevue, Neb. He served in many capacities in that body of Christ until moving to Fort Collins in 2001.

Christian education was important to Bob. He served on the Board of Trustees of Central Christian College for 10 years. Gideon International was a great part of Bob's life. He loved distributing God's word. Since moving to Fort Collins, Bob had joined Timberline Church. He was involved with the Prime Timers ministry, which had led to many friendships.

Bob will be remembered as a faithful husband, loving brother, uncle and Godfather. We will miss his hugs, his prayers, his jokes and his great zest for life. We rejoice that he is safe in the arms of his Heavenly Father.

Bob leaves behind his wife, Myrtle; sisters, Margaret Bryant and her husband, Seth, Waneta Bagger and her husband, Richard, Venita Christian and her husband, Ron, and Jean Joy. He will also be missed by cousins; nieces; nephews; Godchildren; and a host of friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Gideons International in care of Allnutt Funeral Service.
