PLYMOUTH --- David N. Allen, 55, of 602 South St., Plymouth, died Wednesday (Oct. 23, 1996) at Westview Care Center, Britt.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Trinity Lutheran Church, 213 N. Pennsylvania Ave., Mason City, with the Rev. Nils C. ``Chris'' Hellevik officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, Mason City, with full military rites by the Mason City Memorial Association. Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Major Erickson Funeral Home, 111 N. Pennsylvania Ave., Mason City.

Memorials may be given to the David N. Allen Memorial Fund.

David was born July 29, 1941, in Chicago, Ill., to Dan W. and Carma (Brackey) Allen. He grew up in Mason City and attended Mason City High School, graduating from Mason City High School in 1959. He served in the United States Navy for 10 years, which included serving on the U.S.S. Kitty Hawk during the Vietnam War.

David was married to Audrey Lewis on Oct. 17, 1968, at the Naval Air Station, Patuxent, Md. After his discharge from the Navy, they moved back to Mason City where he worked for Holnam Cement Company from 1976 to 1996.

He was an avid bass fisherman. He fished in various bass tournaments where he took first place in the Nationals and 11th place in the Internationals in 1978 at St. John's River in Florida. Earlier this year, he finished first place at the Four Seasons Bass Club, Albert Lea, Minn. David also enjoyed bow hunting.

He was a member of the Rochester, Minn., Bass Club and the VFW.

Survivors include his wife, Audrey Allen, of Plymouth; daughter, Karen Michaelsen and her husband, Terry, of Mason City; son, Thomas Dickson and wife, Debi, Bel Air, Md.; son, Dennis Dickson and his wife, Marlene, Westminster, Md.; daughter, Brenda Carter and husband, Michael, Brooklyn Park, Md.; grandchildren, Mandy and Shane Servantez of Mason City; Michael and Sandra Carter of Maryland; Philip and Rebecca Dickson of Maryland; and Robbie and Danielle Dickson of Maryland; his father, Dan Allen, Mason City; one brother, Robert Allen and his wife, Judy, of Mason City; and one sister, Cheryl Allen of Clear Lake; three nieces; and one nephew.

He was preceded in death by his mother in 1980.
