Anna E. Keenan At Rest

Word was received here Saturday afternoon of the death of Anna E. Keenan at the hospital in Aberdeen S. Dak., following an operation in which
pneumonia developed with fatal result.

The operation took place on Tuesday of last week and in her weakened condition she was unable to withstand the attack of pleurisy and pneumonia which ended a young life full of hope and promise.

The remains, accompanied by the grief-stricken parents, sister Mrs. R. G. Guter and brother Claude, arrived here Sunday afternoon, and another sister Mrs. C. J. Gaffney with scores of sympathizing friends awaited here the sorrowful return.

The deceased is the eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs Kennan and was born in Dougherty township, March 30th 1878.
When a child she removed with her parents to Rockwell where she graduated from our high school and grew to womanhood.
For a time she followed the avocation of teaching but later entered upon a business life for which she was admirably fitted.
Three years she spent in the Rockwell Postoffice as deputy and those with whom she came in daily contact learned to admire her loyal christian life and love her as a tried friend and sister.
About two years ago she went to Aberdeen S. Dak. where she was employed as cashier and book-keeper.

The funeral was held at Sacred Heart church Monday forenoon, Mass being pronounced at ten o'clock.
The casket was loaded down with a profusion of handsome flowers, the gift of loving friends.

Interment was made in the Catholic cemetery at Dougherty, in the family lot beside those that have passed to the land from whence no pilgrim ere return.
