Beecher Funeral at Doutherty Attended by Many of Relatives. (1935)

Dougherty, Feb. 15.- Funeral services for Mrs. J. J. Beecher, 75, were held at St. Patrick's church Wednesday morning. A requiem high mass was celebrated by the local pastor, the Rev. J. J. Collins with the Rev. E. J. O'Hagen of Rockwell in the sanctuary.
Burial was in the adjoining cemetery near her son Michael J., who preceded her in death two years ago.

In failing health the last few years, Mrs Beecher was an easy victim of pneumonia.
She is survived by her husband, J. J. Beecher, three sons, John F. of Elma, William L., attorney at Waterloo, James A. of Creston and four daughters, Mrs Thomas Dolan and Mrs John Cahill of Rockwell, Genevieve of Mason City and Hannah at home; by 24 grandchildren, two brothers, J. A. Donahue of Yankton, S. Dak. and J. H. Donahue of Iowa City, and two sisters, Mrs. M J. Beecher of Iowa City and Mrs. J.J. Ryan of Monmouth, Ill.

All but Mrs M. J. Beecher were in attendance at the funeral. Other relatives and friends from a distance included Mrs. J. A. Donahue, son John and wife of Yankton, S. Dak.; James Beecher, Mrs Will Burns and son James, Mr. and Mrs A. O'Neil and son Joseph, and Euna Cusack of Iowa City; Mr. and Mrs. E. H. McCoy, Mrs. A.L. Wangler, Mrs. O.W. Kress and Miss Grace Stalmaker of Waterloo; Mr. and Mrs Thomas Connor and family and several employes of the Iowa Hardware Mutual of Mason City, and Mr and Mrs G. H. Bushman of Austin, Minn.
