M. Kelsh Rites to be Friday (1939)
Services To Be Held At Holy Family Church Burial At Dougherty
Funeral services for Matt Kelsh 78, who died at a local hospital following a brief illness will be held at the Holy Family Catholic Church at 9 o’clock Friday morning.
Mr. Kelsh was born Jan. 27, 1861, at Plattesville, Wis. At the age of 13 he moved with his family to Farley, Iowa, and in 1881 to Cerro Gordo County, locating in Dougherty Township. He was married to Elizabeth Barragy in 1901.
Surviving Mr. Kelsh are his son Paul H. Kelsh, 816 Elm Drive, with whom he made his home, one sister, Mrs. Dennis O’Connor, Hampton, and two grandchildren, Charles Allen and Suzanne Kelsh, and several nieces and nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his wife in 1930.
Mr. Kelsh was a member of the Holy Family Catholic Church.
The body was taken from the Meyer Funeral Home to the residence at 816 Elm Drive Wednesday afternoon.
The Rosary will be said there at 8 o’clock on Wednesday and Thursday evenings.
Burial will be at the Dougherty cemetery.
Charles E. Snipps of the Meyer Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
