Irene D. Casebolt, 84, 1000 N. Eisenhower Ave, Mason City, IA, formerly of Clear Lake, IA, died Tuesday, July 31, 2007 at Muse-Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit, Mason City, IA.

A funeral service will be held Friday, Aug. 3, 2:00 PM at Ward-Van Slyke Colonial Chapel, 101 N. 4th St., Clear Lake with Reverend Tom Healey officiating. Visitation will be 1:00 PM Friday preceding the service. Interment will be at the Memorial Park Cemetery, Mason City, IA. Memorials may be given to the Irene Casebolt Memorial Fund.

Irene was born April 19, 1923 in Ventura, IA, the daughter of Roy E. and Nita B. (Ayers) Eibey. She graduated from Rockwell High School in 1941. Irene married Orlan V. Casebolt April 19, 1942 at the Methodist Church in Rockwell, IA. Irene and Orlan moved to their farm in 1945 where they enjoyed their life in farming. She enjoyed crocheting, crafts and camping. She was a member of the Merriment Club and Wigwam N’Wagon Camping Club. Orlan and Irene spent their winters in the Rio Grande Valley at Donna, Texas following retirement. In 1996 Irene moved to the Willows in Mason City and loved living there and visiting with her many friends. She enjoyed doing family history and also kept a diary for over 40 years.

Irene is survived by her daughter Kathryn Schroeder and her husband Edwin, Garner, IA, and sons Dale Casebolt, Clear Lake, IA and Tim Casebolt and his wife Janeen, Ankeny, IA; seven grandchildren, Brent, Bryan, Tammy, and Scott Schroeder and Bradly Casebolt; and Shaun and Krislynn Casebolt. seven great grandchildren Melanie and Braxton Schroeder; Bryson and Ashley Schroeder, Suzanne, Rachel and David Hunn; one great great grandson Cayden; one brother Richard Eibey and his wife Shirley, Clear Lake; sister Lois Fields, Salida, CO.

Irene was preceded in death by her parents, and husband Orlan Oct. 16, 1999.
