Jean "Jeannie-Belle" I. Carolus, 88 of 511 N. Van Buren Ave, Mason City, died peacefully Friday morning, July 27, 2012, at her home.

Funeral services will be held 3:30 p.m., Friday Aug. 3, at Faith Baptist Church, 1807 S. Kentucky Ave, Mason City. Officiating will be the Revs. Scott Davis of Grace Evangelical Free Church and Miles Grismore of Faith Baptist Church. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Thursday at Fullerton Funeral Home, 123 Second St. S.E., Mason City, and again one hour prior to services at the Church. Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, Mason City. Condolences may be shared with the family at www.Fullertonfh.com .

Jean Irene was born on Oct. 23, 1923, in Forest City, Iowa, the daughter of Neal and Anna (Beckjordan) Brackey. She attended school for her elementary education in Forest City and when the family moved to Mason City she attended junior and senior high. During World War ,II she traveled the U.S. extensively and finally moved to the West Coast and worked in the shipyards; first as a welder and then as a director of the cranes. She married Alfred Peasley on Feb. 26, 1946, in Mason City, where they raised their son and three daughters. She was a "stay-at-home" wife and mother who loved to cook, bake and make sure all her children knew the Lord Jesus Christ as their Savior.

In 1961, the family moved to Juneau, Alaska then to Tenstrike, Minn., then on to Panorama City, Calif., for a brief time before moving back to Mason City, where she spent the rest of her life. For a short time she worked at JC Penny, and in 1971 and for the next ten years she worked for Lifetime Manufacturing of RV motor homes.

She met Don Carolus when he placed a bid on doing the siding of her home and on Feb. 16, 1980, they were united in marriage in Casper, Wyo. They enjoyed traveling, time with the family, eating at their favorite restaurants.

Those thankful in sharing Jean's long life include her son Jerry Peasley, Mason City; Sheila and her husband Ron Callow, Clear Lake; Sharon Peaslee and her husband Michael Burns, Hines, Minn.; Rozanna and her husband Mike Theisen, Blackduck, Minn.; her sister JoAnn Traenor, Mason City; her twin brothers-in-law Merlin of Texas and Merwin Carolus of Mason City, sister-in-law Lorraine Bartleson, Clear Lake; 18 grandchildren, 50 great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren and a cousin Frances (James) Sanders, Juneau, Alaska.

Her parents Neal Brackey and Anna Kunzman, both husbands Alfred in 1985, and Don in 2011, three grandchildren Dena Brones, Troy Peasley, and Warren Theisen, and a cousin, Donald Beckjordan, preceded her in death.
