T. C. Ryan, 90 dies at Dougherty
Thomas C. Ryan, 90, retired Dougherty druggist, died Wednesday morning at his home in Dougherty.
Mr. Ryan was born Oct. 23, 1875, at Ransom, Ill, a son of John and Catherine (Deggan)Ryan.
He was graduated from the schools of Ransom and the Pharmacy School of Valparaiso University, Valparaiso, Ind.
He moved to Dougherty in 1901. He owned and operated the Ryan Drug Store of Dougherty until his retirement a few years ago.
He was married to Bridget McGee Nov. 4, 1902, at Dougherty.
Mr Ryan was the last charter member of K. of C. Council 1006 of Mason City and the Monsignor Dougherty Assembly of the 4th Degree K. of C.
He was also a member of the Catholic Order of Forrestors, St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Dougherty, the Holy Name Society of St. Patrick's Church, the Iowa State Pharmacy Association and a charter member of the Druggist Mutual Insurance Company of Algona.Surviving are a daughter, Mrs Don (Mary) Pedelty, Clear Lake; two sons, Justin and Emmet Ryan both of Dougherty, and four grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, a son, Thomas, and a daughter, Mary Kathleen.
Funeral arrangements are incomplete. The Hogan-McGee Colonial Funeral Home in charge.
