Patrick Murphy Dies at Home
Services to Be at Holy Family Church (1950)Patrick H. Murphy, 91, retired farmer, died early Saturday at his home, 321 Georgia N.E. following a lingering illness. He had been a resident of Mason City for the past 25 years.
Mr. Murphy was born March 6, 1859, at Manitowoc, Wis. the son of Owen and Ellen Murphy.
They moved to Dougherty in 1879. Mr. Murphy retired in 1925 and moved to Mason City.
He was married to Dora Donnelly in 1890.
Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. John L. Dougherty, Mason City, and two sisters, Mrs. Ed Donnelly, Mason City and Miss Bridget Murphy, Dougherty, and 3 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death my his wife, July 25, 1949.He was a member of the Modern Woodmen of America and the Holy Family Church.
Funeral services will be held at 9 a.m. Monday at the Holy Family Catholic Church, with the Rt. Rev. Msgr. A.J. Breen officiating. Burial will be at St. Patrick's cemetery at Dougherty.
The Rosary will be said at 8 p.m. Saturday at the Colonial chapel. After 1 p.m. Sunday the body will lie in state at the Murphy residence where the parish Rosary will be said at 8 p.m.
