Mrs. Murphy Rites Are Conducted (1952)
Solemn Requiem High Mass was celebrated for Martha T. Murphy, 88, Friday at the Holy Family Catholic Church with Father Joseph Murphy, her nephew as celebrant.
Father John Reed was deacon and Father Roger Sullivan, sub-deacon. The Rt. Rev. Msgr. A. J. Breen gave the sermon. Master of Ceremonies was Dennis Lannon. James Lynch was thrurifer and Charles Hogan and Kenneth Moss, acloytes. Ralph McCarron was the usher.
Relatives attending the services from out of town were Mr. and Mrs. C. E. Murphy and son, Richard; Mr. and Mrs. J. J. Donnelly and Mr. and Mrs. V. E. Donnelly, Cleveland, Ohio; Mrs Frank Hafner, Huron S. D.; Mrs Gene Ploung, Minneapolis, Minn.; and Paul Peters, Fairbanks.
Mr. and Mrs Ambrose Rooney, Miss Bridget Murphy, Mr. and Mrs. J. B. Rooney, Mr. and Mrs Peter Murphy, Mr. and Mrs. Mike Hogan, Mr. and Mrs. Vincent Murphy, Mr.and Mrs. E. G. Dougherty, and Mr. and Mrs. Clark Dougherty all of Dougherty.
Mr and Mrs. Henry McGaheren, Mr. and Mrs. John Hogan, Mr. and Mrs. Ed Murphy, Mr. and Mrs. Roy Behr, and Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Gallagher, all of Rockwell. Mrs. Josephine Schmidt, Osage; Mr. and Mrs. Larry Dyer, Hampton and Mrs. Rose Murphy, St. Anthony.
Pallbearers were Walter Murphy, Mike Hogan, William Kelley, Joseph Donnelly, Edward Murphy and Leo Donnelly.
Interment was at St. Patrick's Cemetery, Dougherty. The Colonial Funeral Home was in charge.
