Donna L. Geving, 85, of Algona, died, Wednesday, September 7, 2016, at Kossuth Regional Health Center, Algona. A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, September 9, 2016, at First Lutheran Church, Algona. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 9 to 10:30 a.m., also at the church. Interment will be held in East Lawn Cemetery following the service.

Donna Luverne Geving was born October 10, 1930, in Mason City, Iowa, the daughter of Laurence and Rosie (Wiand) Peery. She grew up in Mason City and graduated from the Mason City High School in 1948. She went on to attend Hamilton Business College.

On October 17, 1948, Donna was united in marriage to LeRoy Geving at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Mason City. They lived in Mason City and later moved to New Hampton, Eagle Grove and Algona. Donna worked for Farm Bureau Insurance while living in Algona. They later moved back to Mason City before moving back to Algona in 2006.

Donna enjoyed spending time with her family and loved playing cards and belonged to many Bridge groups. In younger years she enjoyed golfing, fishing and traveling.

Donna died Wednesday, September 7, 2016, at the Kossuth Regional Health Center in Algona, at the age of 85.

She is survived by her son, Jay and Bonny Geving of Algona; daughter, Norma and Phil Lovstad of Burt; four grandchildren, Dr. Jeffrey and Gina Geving; Jason and Nicole Geving; Jordan Lovstad; Shelby Lovstad and friend, Brandon Varnell; seven great-grandchildren, Bennita, Griffin, Milo, Lucy, Emmet, Lilly and Benjamin Geving.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, LeRoy Geving; daughter, Paula; grandson, Benjamin Geving and brother, Philip in infancy.
