December 05, 2003MASON CITY, IA -- Katherine E. 'Katie' Geelhart, 25, of Mason City, died Wednesday (December 3, 2003) at Mercy Medical Center-North Iowa.
A funeral Mass will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 302 Fifth St. S.E., Mason City, with the Rev. Harry H. Koelker, officiating. Burial will be in Elmwood- St. Joseph Cemetery in Mason City. Visitation will be one hour prior to services Saturday at the church.
Memorials may be given to Harmony Ranch, c/o Arispie Law Office, 13 Plaza Drive #4, Clear Lake, IA 50428.
Katherine E. Geelhart was born Jan. 26, 1978, at Milwaukee, Wis., a daughter of Bill and Karen (Reisch) Geelhart. Katie was a 1997 graduate of Stevens High School, Rapid City, S.D. She worked at Opportunity Village, Clear Lake.
Katie enjoyed crafts, watching baseball and football, bowling, horseback riding, and especially making ceramics. She was an avid Vikings and Twins fan. She was a member of the Bell Choir and Sing it with Sign Choir at Opportunity Village.
Katie is survived by her parents, Bill and Karen Geelhart, of Mason City; three brothers, Chris, of Sherman, Ill., Ted and his wife, Kim, of Marshalltown, IA, and Shane, of Mason City; a special friend, Jeff Robinson; aunts, uncles, and cousins, including Sue Meek, of St. Charles, Ill., Ann Spader, of Sioux Falls, S.D., and Beth Gehringer, of Genoa, Ill.
She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Percy and Mary Ellen Geelhart; and her maternal grandparents, John Sr. and Dorothy Reisch.
