MASON CITY — Faith J. Gaillard, 83, of Mason City, died Monday (April 16, 2007) at the Good Shepherd Healthcare Center.

Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, April 20, at the Major Erickson Funeral Home, 111 N. Pennsylvania Ave., with the Rev. Tom Healey, chaplain, Hospice of North Iowa, officiating. There will be a gathering of family and friends one hour prior to the service.

Memorials may be directed to the Alzheimer’s Association, Mid-Iowa Chapter, 700 E. University, Des Moines, IA 50316, in her name.

Faith J. Gaillard was born March 2, 1924, in Franklin, N.H., the daughter of Archie and Ardis (Cilley) Severance and step-father Amos Brown. Faith grew up in New Hampshire and graduated from Lebanon High School.

On Jan. 23, 1943, Faith was united in marriage to Roger Gaillard in Lebanon, N.H. They lived in many different areas including; Lebanon, N.H., Elkhorn, Wis., back to Lebanon, N.H., Chicago, Ill., West Chicago, Ill., Loveland, Ohio, Roseville, Minn., and Fort Dodge, Iowa, before moving to Mason City in 1993.

Faith was employed as a secretary by the A.E. Lord Co. in Lebanon, N.H., worked for the government payroll in Elkhorn, Wis., and was employed as a secretary for the Realtor Agency in West Chicago, Ill.

She served as president of the American Legion in West Chicago, Ill. Faith enjoyed bowling, golf, reading, playing cards, getting on the bus and going to the casino, and spending time with her family and friends. She always had a smile on her face and kept everyone on their toes with her feisty and spunky attitude.

Everything we are today is because Mom showed us the way. Always there when we needed her; loving, patient, understanding, and compassionate. Mom taught us about life and the joy of living it. Thank you, Mom, we love you now and forever.

Faith is survived by her children, Thomas Gaillard and fiancée, LuAnn Billingsley, of Manson, Frank Gaillard and wife, Nancy, of Hudson, Wis., Peter Gaillard and wife, Pam, of Spring, Texas, Patricia Morris and husband, Kerry, of Belmond, Pamela Mueller and husband, Mark, of Mason City; 17 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren.

Faith was preceded in death by her parents; step-father, Amos Brown; daughter-in-law, Donna; and husband, Roger.
