MASON CITY -- Rella M. Postma, 87, of 106 21st St. S.E., died Thursday (Oct. 19, 2000) at the Good Shepherd Health Center.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at Wesley United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Bill Poland officiating. Burial will be in Elmwood-St. Joseph Cemetery. Visitation will be held at 1 p.m. Monday until time of service at the church. Major Erickson Funeral Home, 111 N. Pennsylvania Ave., is in charge of arrangements.

Memorials may be directed to the Rella M. Postma Memorial Fund.

Rella Mae Postma was born Aug. 8, 1913 in Mason City, the daughter of William H. and Carrie (Anderson) Ross. She graduated from Mason City High School.

She was united in marriage to Dick Postma on June 9, 1932 in Owatonna, Minn. She worked for the Eadmar Hotel for ten years. She also worked at the Cerro Gordo Hotel (now the Norwest Bank Site). She was actively involved in many activities including the Ladies Auxiliary to the Brotherhood of Railroad Trainmen, Milwaukee Railroad Women's Club, past president of the Grandmothers Club, PTA, TAE Club, Iowa Cub Scouts and a member of the Wesley United Methodist Church. In her spare time she enjoyed working on ceramics and playing cards.

Those left to cherish her memory include two sons, Bill E. Postma and wife, Phyllis, of Las Vegas, Nev., and Dick G. Postma and wife Mary, of Palo; grandchildren, Carin Akers of Las Vegas, Nev., Keely Everett of Lafayette, Calif., Matt Postma, of Walford, Ann Day of Des Moines, Paige Friederick, of Cedar Rapids and Megan Postma, of Palo; great-grandchildren, Sydney Day, Logan Friederick, Jordan Friederick, Anne Everett, and Megan Everett.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother, Howard Ross, a great-grandchild, Kelsey Everett.
