February 26, 2018Melvin William Mabra, 80, formerly of Mason City, IA died on February 23, 2018, in Houston, TX.
Melvin served in church ministry for over 50 years. He pastored in Mason City, IA for 17 years, Sedalia, MO from 1987-1995 at Camp Branch Baptist Church, and then was pastor of Calvary Baptist Church and Cornerstone Baptist Church in Nevada, MO.
Melvin is survived by his wife, Caroline, of Nevada; two children, William Mabra (Claudia) of Cancun, Mexico, and DeShea Morrow (Jim) of Marinette, WI; five grandchildren, two sisters.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, March 2, 2018 at Ferry Funeral Home, Nevada. Interment with Military Honors will follow in National Cemetery, Ft. Scott, KS. The family will receive friends at 10:00 a.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
Memorials are suggested to the M.D. Anderson Cancer Center or Cornerstone Baptist Church in care of Ferry Funeral Home.
