DENISON -- Ryan Patrick Loftus, 28, of Denison, passed away Thursday (March 20, 2008) at his home in Denison.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday in the chapel of the Mason-Lindhart Funeral Home in Humboldt. Visitation is from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Ryan Patrick Loftus was born July 27, 1979, at Mason City. He was raised and educated at Garner and graduated from Garner-Hayfield High School in 1998. Following his education, Ryan moved to Chicago where he worked for the Chicago Board of Trade. In 2000, he returned to Iowa making his home at Clear Lake where he was employed by Gerard of Iowa until a back injury. He then went to work for Job Corps and made his home with his father, Steve, and Jill Loftus at Denison until his death.

Ryan enjoyed studying military history, the outdoors, golfing and snowmobiling. He especially enjoyed his annual fishing trips with his dad, brother, and uncles. An avid hunter, Ryan enjoyed hunting pheasants, deer, geese and ducks.

Ryan is survived by his mother, Marilyn (Mark) Schoeller of Clear Lake; father, Steve (Jill) Loftus of Denison; brother, Steve (Heather) Loftus of North Salem, N.Y.; sister, Susan (Todd) Munnik of Cedar Falls; grandfather, Richard Blomker of Humboldt; nieces and nephews, Lilly and Mason Munnik, and Luke and Sawyer Loftus.
