CLEAR LAKE -- Jeanne Josten, 72, of Clear Lake, died Monday (March 11, 1996) at her home.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Boniface Catholic Church, Garner, with the Rev. John Hemann officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, Mason City.

Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, with a Catholic Daughters of the Americas rosary at 4:30 p.m., a Rosary Society rosary at 7 p.m. and a scriptural wake service at 7:30 p.m., at the Cataldo Funeral Chapel, Garner.

Helen Jeanne Josten, a daughter of Charles J. and Minnie (Kenefick) Engstler, was born March 4, 1924, at Garner. After graduating from Garner High School in 1943, she worked at Boeing Aircraft in Seattle, Wash., and Northwestern Bell Telephone Company in Garner.

On Feb. 18, 1946, she was married to Duane B. Josten at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Garner. They farmed southeast of Garner until they retired in the fall of 1983. After Duane's death in 1984, she moved into Garner where she lived until February of 1993, when she moved to the Meadows in Clear Lake.

Jeanne also worked at Winnebago Industries in Forest City for 13 years, North Iowa Electronics in Garner and Par Products in Klemme.

She enjoyed her family, grandchildren, crossword puzzles and playing cards and was an avid Hawkeye fan.

She was a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church, Rosary Society and Catholic Daughters of the Americas.

She is survived by two daughters, Kathleen Ann Lackore and special friend, Pat Whalen, both of Britt, and Carol Jeanne Harlan and her husband, Pat, of Clear Lake; five grandchildren, Jason Lackore, Kelly Lackore, Kristi Lakore, Sean Harlan and Theresa Harlan; and two brothers, Carl Engstler and his wife, Bertha, of Seattle, Wash., and Bill Engstler and his wife, Edna, of Payson, Ariz.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Duane Josten, on March 26, 1984; her parents; two brothers, John Engstler and Paul Engstler; and two sisters, Margaret Greiman and Catherine Foster.
