December 29, 2000MASON CITY - Ralph D. Johnson, 64, of 127 13th St. N.E., died Tuesday (Dec. 26, 2000) at the Muse Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit in Mason City.
Funeral services will be held at later date with inurnment in Rice Lake Cemetery, Wells, Minn. There will be no visitation.
Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to direct memorials to the Ralph D. Johnson Memorial Fund.
Fullerton Funeral Home, 123 Second St. S.E., Mason City, is in charge of arrangements.
Ralph was born Dec. 25, 1936, in Wells, Minn., the son of Alvin and Goldie (Buendorf) Johnson. He grew up in Wells and graduated from Wells High School. Following high school, he served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps.
On Sept. 15, 1957, Ralph was united in marriage to Irene Novak in Wells, Minn.
Ralph was an avid reader who enjoyed spending time at the library. He was also always ready to take a trip over to the Mississippi River to do some sight-seeing.
Those thankful for having shared in Ralph's life include his companion and friend for the last 12 years, Coral English; two daughters, Julie Wernet and her husband, James, of Mason City, and Cheri Bennett, of Tulsa, Okla; two sons, Douglas Johnson and his wife, Joan, of Farmington, Minn., and Kerry Johnson and his wife, Faye, of Fulton, Mo.; his mother, Goldie Johnson, of Wells, Minn.; two sisters, Darlene Espeland and her husband, Richard, of Forest City, and Coni Olson and her husband, Alan, of Wells, Minn.; one brother, LaMar Johnson and his wife, Bev, of Wells, Minn.; five grandchildren, Jacob, Mackenzie, Elisa, Nicholas and Rachel, and many nieces and nephews.
His father, Alvin, preceded Mr. Johnson in death.
