Sandra L. Osegera “SUGAR” June 4, 1945 - February 3, 2018

MASON CITY: Sandra L. Osegera “SUGAR”, 72, of Mason City, IA, passed away on Saturday, February 3, 2018, at Mercy Medical Center – North Iowa, surrounded by her family.

Memorial services will be held at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, February 7, 2018, at Major Erickson Funeral Home, 111 N. Pennsylvania Avenue, with Rev. Kenneth Gehling officiating. Per her wishes, she was cremated. There will be no visitation. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family of Sandra Osegera. Sandra was born June 4, 1945, in Mason City, the daughter of Robert J. and Marcella (Trebilcock) Reicherts. She graduated from Mason City High School in 1963. On July 6, 1963, she was united in marriage to Phillip Osegera at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Mason City. Over the years, Sandra worked at K-Mart and was a unit clerk at Mercy Medical Center – North Iowa until her retirement in 1998. Sandra enjoyed spending time with her family. She also enjoyed baking, gardening, ceramics, babysitting, playing cards, water aerobics at the YMCA and going for walks with her husband. She was a member of TOPS and Curves.

Sandra is survived by her husband of 54 years: Phillip Osegera of Mason City; 5 children: Brenda Bodenhamer and husband Todd of Mason City, Holly Osegera of Mason City, David Osegera of Mason City, Heidi Feuring of Mason City, and Chad Osegera and wife Molly of Mason City; 8 grandchildren: Kayla, Chelsey, Kyle, Leah, Jordan, Dakota, Dallas and Madison; 1 great granddaughter: McKenzy Rae; sister: Mary Schiff of Mason City; brother: Robert Reicherts and wife Deb of Albert Lea, MN; step-siblings; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her step-father: Donald Dieter; and a sister in infancy: Sandra.
