CLEAR LAKE — Jerry L. Hepperly, 74, of Clear Lake, died Monday (February 16, 2015) at Good Shepherd Health Center, Mason City.

A Memorial service will be held 1:30 p.m. Saturday (February 21, 2015) in the Chapel at Good Shepherd Health Center, 302 2nd St NE, Mason City, with Rev. Janet Dorenkamp officiating. The family will greet friends one half hour prior to services in the Chapel at Good Shepherd Health Center, Saturday.

Jerry L. Hepperly was born October 9, 1940, at Britt, the son of Louis and Eleanor (Wright) Hepperly. He was united in marriage to Nina Trimble on June 10, 1962, at Ventura. He attended country school near Britt and Fertile school. He was a 1960 graduate of Fertile High School. Jerry farmed in the Clear Lake and Fertile areas for many years.

He enjoyed attending auctions, horses, and helping with equipment and traveling with the Hepperly family band. He instilled a strong work ethic in his three sons, and loved making people laugh.

He was a member of Ventura United Methodist Church.

Jerry is survived by his sons, Scott Hepperly, Killeen, TX, Todd Hepperly and Pam Theilen and her son, Gunner, Mason City, Jon Hepperly and Jennifer White, Clear Lake; grandchildren, Nicole (Wallace) Risen, Joseph (Alexandria) Hepperly, Ashley Hepperly, Justin (Jessica) Hepperly, Megan (Craig) Hepperly; great-grandchildren, Jacob and Makswell Risen; a sister, Marilyn (Don) Severson, Joice; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Jerry’s family wishes to acknowledge the wonderful care given by the staff at Good Shepherd Health Center and Hospice.
