MASON CITY — Mildred C. Grant, 82, of 548 E. State St., Mason City, Iowa, passed away at 5:45 a.m. on Wed. (May 31, 2006) at Morton Terrace in Morton, Ill., where she had been a resident for several years.

A memorial service in her honor will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Sat., June 3, 2006 at Grace United Methodist Church in Mason City.

Rev. Bill Poland will officiate. Cremation rites will be accorded. Interment of ashes will be at Elmwood St. Joseph Cemetery in Mason City.

Mildred was born on Sept. 25, 1923, in Mason City to Clarence and Selma Stockset Anonson. She married Arthur Grant in Nashua, Iowa, on Oct. 27, 1946. He preceded her in death on July 7, 1974, in Mason City. Also preceding her were one brother and one granddaughter.

Mildred had been a visiting nurse and also worked in many hospitals in Iowa and Illinois during her 40-year career. She was a member of the VFW Auxiliary and the Moose Lodge. She had also attended Grace United Methodist Church in Mason City.

She is survived by two daughters: Connie (Michal) Wright of Morton, Ill., and Sally (Greg) Angell of Omaha, Neb.; two sons: Mike (Diane) Grant of Mason City, Iowa, and Richard (Diane) Grant of Webster City, Iowa; nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and one brother, Lloyd Anonson of Charles City, Iowa.
