March 13, 1996VALLEJO, CALIF. -- Raymund E. Grier, 75, of Vallejo, and formerly of Mason City, Iowa, died Saturday (March 8, 1996) after a brief illness at Vallejo Hospital.
Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Skyview Garden Chapel, Vallejo, with the Rev. Ernie Sprinkel officiating, with burial in Skyview Memorial Lawn.
Visitation will be held from 3 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Skyview Garden Chapel. Skyview Memorial Lawn is in charge of arrangements.
Raymund E. Grier was born June 8, 1920, in Mason City, Iowa. He had lived in Vallejo for 36 years. He retired in 1983 from his position as a maintenance supervisor for TAFB/Civil Service after 22 years. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the Pacific Campaign by occupational forces in Japan.
He was a member of the Church of Christ, Pinolef. His hobbies included golf, traveling and he was a rock hound.
Survivors include one daughter, Jacqueline Mae Flores of Vallejo; one son, Raymund E. Grier Jr. of Vallejo; three sisters, Alice Walker, Mildred Creekmur and Phyllis Easely, all of Iowa; two brothers, Harold C. Grier and John E. Grier, both of Iowa; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife in 1990; one sister, Miriam Schwieger; and one brother, Richard Grier.
