Delores V. Burmester, 63, of Mason City, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, March 4, 2018, after battling breast and liver cancer.

The funeral will be held at 10:00 am, Wednesday, March 7, 2018 at Hogan-Bremer Colonial Chapel, 126 3rd St. NE, Mason City, IA with Gavin Collins officiating. Burial will be in Elmwood-St. Joseph Cemetery, Mason City.

Visitation will be held from 5:00pm to 7:00pm on Tuesday, March 6, 2018 at the funeral chapel.

Delores was born May 7, 1954 at Postville, Iowa, daughter of Raymond and Virginia (Bond) Wardell. Delores graduated from Fayette High School and Hamilton Business College. On November 8, 1986 she was united in marriage with Clark Burmester, at Mason City, IA.

Delores worked 44 years for Trinity Health which included various mergers and also worked part time helping manage Forest Park Medical Clinic.

She and her deceased husband were gathered with the Christians unto the name of the Lord Jesus Christ at Aredale Gospel Hall.

On June 1, 1981 Delores came to know the Lord Jesus Christ as her personal Savior. The verses that led to her conversion were 1 John 5:9 & 11 and Isaiah 53:6, “The Lord hath laid on Him the iniquity of us all.” Delores "departed to be with Christ which is far better.” Philippians 1:23.

Those left to cherish her memory are her mother, Virginia Wardell; brothers Raymond Wardell, Donald Wardell, and Roger (Joanna) Wardell, and sister, Darlene Wardell, as well as many extended family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Clark and her father, Raymond.

“But God commendeth His love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Much more then, being justified by His blood, we shall be saved from wrath through Him.” Romans 5:8-9.
