Michael E. McCauley January 16, 1950 - January 12, 2018
Michael E. McCauley, 67, of Mason City, passed away Friday, January 12, 2018 at his home.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 a.m. Saturday, January 27th, 2018 at Epiphany Parish – St. Joseph Catholic Church, 302 5th St SE, Mason City with Father Austin Wilker officiating. Burial will be in St. Francis Cemetery, Belmond, IA at a later date.

Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Friday, January 26, 2018 at Hogan-Bremer-Moore Colonial Chapel, 126 3rd St. NE, Mason City, Iowa.

The family suggests memorials be directed to Our Loving Children, My Happy Place, or Hospice of North Iowa in honor of Michael.

Michael Edward McCauley was born on January 16, 1950 in Forest City to Francis and Agnes (Rodberg) McCauley. He grew up in Fertile until his family moved to Mason City in 1964 where he attended and graduated from Mason City High School in 1968. Following his graduation Michael held many jobs, but most recently he had worked for Mercy Medical Center North Iowa as a Mechanic for 26 years until his retirement in 2007. On August 18, 1984 Michael married his love, Sandy Zeiger.

Michael enjoyed camping, playing cards, spending time at the casino and bowling, and could often be found outside visiting with his neighbors. He was a member of Epiphany Parish-St. Joseph Catholic Church.

Those left to cherish Michael's memory are his wife, Sandy McCauley of Mason City; niece Kimberly Owens of Tulsa, OK, and nephew Christopher (Ana) McCauley of Tampa, FL; nieces and nephews-in-law Joshua (Kathy) Steenblock, Adam (Jackie) Steenblock, Shauna (Robbie) Krush, Jill (Shane) VerSteeg, Heidi (Gabe Popovich) Zeiger-Popovich; great-nieces and nephews, Sam, Owen, Will, and Wesley Versteeg, Avery, Taylor, and Maggie Steenblock, Adalyn, Peter, and Oliver Steenblock, Nicole McCauley, and Vivian and Ruby Popovich; siblings-in-law, Diane (Russ) Steenblock and Larry (Linda) Zeiger; as well as many cousins, extended family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by his brothers, Roger and Larry McCauley, and his parents Francis and Agnes McCauley.
