Gary McMullen, 73, Mason City, died Monday, April 10, 2017, at his home.

A funeral service will be held 10:30 a.m. Friday, April 14, 2017, at Hogan-Bremer-Moore Colonial Chapel, 126 Third St. N.E., Mason City, Iowa, with the Rev. Jim Meyer officiating.

Burial will be held in Elmwood-St. Joseph Cemetery, Mason City.

Visitation will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. on Thursday, April 13, 2017, at the funeral chapel.

Memorials may be directed in care of Gary's family.

Gary Denver McMullen I was born in Brookfield, Missouri, on April 13, 1943. He was the son of Denver and Oretta (Berry) McMullen. Gary attended school in St. Joseph, Missouri, and Clovis, New Mexico. He was an Honor Graduate of Amarillo Jr. College

Gary was an in depth reader and very learned in health and nutrition. He enjoyed photography, but most of all Gary enjoyed spending time with his family and grandchildren.

Gary is survived by his wife, Mary (Gerard) of Mason City; son Gary McMullen II of Mason City; daughters, Oretta Waters of Manly, Kara (Steve Kopp) McMullen of Mason City, and Anne Meyers; and his grandchildren, Brittany, Trisha, Hannah, Cayla, Carter and Alex.

He was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, aunts and uncles.
