Patricia A. “Pat” Sheehy, 89, of Mason City, Iowa died Monday, Nov. 14, 2016 at Good Shepherd Health Center, Mason City.

A memorial Mass for Pat will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 19, at the Epiphany Parish-St. Joseph Catholic Church, 302 Fifth, St. S. E., Mason City, with the Rev. Neil Manternach officiating. Burial will be at a later date at the Elmwood-St. Joseph Cemetery in Mason City.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of North Iowa, Mason City.

Patricia A. (Helin) Sheehy was born Sept.11, 1927 near Buffalo Center, Iowa, the daughter of Albert and Elizabeth (Meimann) Helin. Pat attended and graduated from Buffalo Center Community schools.

Pat worked in Mason City prior to her marriage to John “Jack” Sheehy on Sept. 11, 1950 at Buffalo Center. Pat continued to work as a bookkeeper in Mason City for many years, first for Standard Oil Co, and then for Marigold Dairy.

Pat enjoyed cooking, baking, sewing and puzzles. She made many quilts, did hours of cross-stitching, and knitted many items. Pat lived a few doors from her sister, Leona, and was like a second mother to the Rafferty children. She was instrumental in organizing family gatherings.

Pat was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and the church circle along with the prayer shawl group, where she knitted many shawls for others.

Left to cherish her memory are many nieces and nephews.

Pat is survived by one sister in law, Norma Helin, Mason City. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Jack (2002); eight sisters and two brothers.
