Adeline K. Newman, 91, of Mason City, died Saturday, March 25, 2017, at Heritage Care Center in Mason City.

A funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Friday, March 31, 2017, at Hogan-Bremer-Moore Colonial Chapel, 126 Third St. N.E., Mason City with the Rev. Kathy Moore officiating. Burial will be in Elmwood-St. Joseph Cemetery following the services.

Visitation will be held from 4-6 p.m. Thursday, March 30, 2017, at Hogan-Bremer-Moore Colonial Chapel. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to the Adeline Newman Memorial Fund in care of her family.

Adeline Katherine Newman was born Feb. 26, 1926, in Wagner, South Dakota, the daughter of Fred and Josie (Kukral) Honomichl. She was one of eleven children.

Adeline married Victor Newman on April 22, 1949, in Tyndall, South Dakota; to this union, five children were born.

The couple eventually made their home in Mason City. Adeline worked as a waitress for a variety of restaurants over the years.

Adeline enjoyed reading the paper, magazines, watching TV, especially Criminal Minds and her favorite show "Everybody Loves Raymond." She also played a little BINGO now and then. She loved country and western music. Her favorite songs were "He Stopped Loving Her Today" by George Jones and "Waltz Across Texas" by Ernest Tubb. Adeline also played her guitar once in a while and sang.

She was a long-time member of the First United Methodist Church in Mason City.

Adeline is survived by her children, Darrell R. Newman, Jack L. (special friend Becky Nava) Newman, Texas W. "Tex” Newman, Roger D. "Buck" (Margaret) Newman, all of Mason City, seven grandchildren, Mindy, Nathan, Beth, Tim, Heather, Zachary and Alison; 10 great-grandchildren, Nathaniel, Mason, Emily, Clay, Evelyn, Antonio, Havier, Addison, Aiden, and Elena; along with a sister, Pauline Sundahl, of South Dakota.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Victor; daughter, Debra "Deb," six brothers, and five sisters.
