Patricia Ilene Paulsen, 75, of Mason City, died Saturday, December 31, 2016, at Mercy Medical Center-North Iowa.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, January 4, 2017, at Epiphany Parish St. Joseph Catholic Church, 302 5th St. SE, Mason City, with an Epiphany Parish Priest officiating. Inurnment will be in Elmwood-St. Joseph Cemetery in Mason City.

Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Tuesday, January 3, 2017, at Hogan-Bremer-Moore Colonial Chapel in Mason City with a Scriptural Wake Service beginning at 6 p.m. In lieu of flowers, family requests memorial contributions directed to Newman Catholic School.

Patricia was born April 26, 1941, the daughter of Vern and Agnes (Olson) Bohl in Mason City. She married Thomas A. Paulsen on June 29, 1968, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Mason City. He preceded her in death on July 19, 1979.

Patricia graduated from Mason City High School in 1960. She worked most of her life at Good Shepherd Health Center in Mason City and Washington Regional Medical Center in Fayetteville, AR.

Patricia was a member of Epiphany Parish St. Joseph Catholic Church. She volunteered in the lunchroom at Newman Catholic Elementary School and the Community Kitchen of North Iowa. She enjoyed playing BINGO at Grant Village and being an active grandma.

Patricia is survived by three children, Lynn (David) Broers of Bentonville, AR, Thomas (Maria Cahalan) Paulsen, Jr. of Iowa City, and Timothy Paulsen of Mason City; eight grandchildren, Madison and Parker Broers, Isabelle, Lincoln and Eleanor Paulsen, and Urijah, Wyatt and Gavin Paulsen; two brothers, Marvin (Kathy) Bohl of Mason City and Greg Bohl of St. Paul, MN; a brother-in-law, Jim (Gloria) Paulsen; two sisters-in-law, Geraldine (Dave) Krueger and Christena Paulsen; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and three brothers, Elmer “Ike”, Elvin “Snooks” and Darwin “Skip” Bohl.
