Betty L. Paloma December 7, 1933 - August 2, 2017
Betty L. Paloma, 83, of Mason City, passed away Wednesday, August 2, 2017 at Hospice of North Iowa, Mason City.

A funeral service will be held 10:30 a.m. Saturday, August 5, 2017 at Hogan-Bremer-Moore Colonial Chapels, 126 3rd Street NE., with Rev. Austin Wilker officiating. Burial will be in Elmwood-St. Joseph Cemetery, Mason City.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Friday, August 4, 2017 at Hogan-Bremer-Moore Colonial Chapel, 126 3rd St. NE, Mason City. A rosary will be said at 6:30 p.m., followed by a scriptural wake.

Betty was born December 7, 1933, Mason City, daughter of Pete and Madeline (Bartholomew) Weitzel. Betty attended Mason City High School.

She was united in marriage to Armando H. Paloma, Sr. at St. Joseph, Catholic Church, Mason City. Betty worked at Americana Nursing Home, Garland, Texas school district, and as a dietary aide at Mercy Medical Center. Betty's life was centered on her family, she was a very loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was a member of Epiphany Parish St. Joseph Catholic Church.

Betty is survived by her six children, Ronald (Barbara) Paloma, Norfolk, NE, Margaret (Roger) Newman, Mason City, Amanda (David) Doescher, Mason City, Daniel (Kathy) Paloma, Chandler, AZ, Armando, Jr. (Lisa) Paloma, Mason City, and Theresa (Dan) Ferraro, Queen Creek, AZ; ten grandchildren, Heather (Mike) Cullivan, Marci (David) Petta, Brandi (Leif) Garnass, Tim Newman, Brooke (Dave) Vance, Hannah Paloma, Zach Newman, Johnathan Paloma, Joseph Paloma and Christian Paloma; seven great grandchildren, Ava Garnass, Jacob Garnass, Elena Cullivan, Nora Vance, Wade Vance, Colin Petta, Reece Petta; brother, Thomas (Vernell) Weitzel; sisters, Dixie (Jim) Huffman, Dorothy (Bert) Bryant, Susan (Duane) Fritts, Debbie (Michael) Calkins. Many nieces and nephews and other family members.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, two sisters, Mary Ann Weitzel, Barbara Weitzel and grandson, Kyle Paloma; great-grandchildren, Jack, Addison, and James Petta.
