Jerry Studer, 80 of Mason City died Thursday, December 10th, 2015 at Muse Norris Hospice of North Iowa.

Memorial services for Jerry Studer will be held 11:00am (Saturday June 25, 2016) at Hogan-Bremer-Moore Colonial Chapel, 126 3rd St. NE, Mason City. Visitation will be from 10:00-11:00am prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery with military honors provided by the Mason City Veterans.

Jerry was born November 15th, 1935 in Algona, Iowa the son of Maurice and Henrietta (Cook) Studer. He attended school in Garner and graduated in 1953.

In 1954 Jerry enlisted in the United States Army and served in the Korean War. It was while serving in Germany that Jerry started his career as a courier; driving his army general around the barracks. He was honorably discharged in 1956.

Jerry returned home to marry the love of his life, Regina Zroslik on July 16th, 1959 at the Duncan Church in Duncan, Iowa. They enjoyed spending time at the Surf Ballroom where they first met, date nights at the Duncan Hall and taking fishing trips to Canada.

After having two children, Jerry and Regina bought their first home in Mason City in 1963. They spent 56 years in their home creating lifelong memories and throwing the best Christmas celebrations and family reunions.

Jerry demonstrated an exemplary work ethic. He worked for UPS as a delivery driver for 30 years and retired in 1993.

Following his retirement from UPS, Jerrys love for hard work led him to his second career with Mercy Medical Center North Iowa as a courier for 18 years until retiring in 2012.

Jerry enjoyed cheering on the Iowa Hawkeyes, watching his favorite western movies, collecting everything from Holiday Barbies, Coca Cola and sports memorabilia, spending time with his grandchildren and his best furry buddy, Blade.

He is survived by his beloved wife Regina Studer, Mason City, Iowa; two children Mike (Gerry) Studer and Mary Studer, both of Mason City, Iowa; one sister Linda (Keith) Anderson; one niece Amy (Travis) Calvert; four grandchildren Ben (Rindy) Studer, Jessica (Jamie) Paulsen, Mackenzie Studer and her special friend Christion, Cody Studer and his special friend Kayla, and one step-grandchild Jackie (Jeremy) Fleenor; and two great-grandchildren, Adrianna and Aizen.

He was preceded in death by his parents; Maurice and Henrietta Studer, his father and mother in law Joe and Marie Zroslik. Brothers in law Vince, Ray, Bernie and Don Zroslik, sister in law Barb Kroger and many nieces and nephews.
