Cary J. Stricker, 67, of Mason City, died Monday, Jan. 20, 2014, at home.

Memorial services will be held 1:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 23, 2014, at Trinity Lutheran Church, 213 N. Pennsylvania Ave., with the Rev. Tom Dettmer officiating. Inurnment will take place in Memorial Park Cemetery. Military rites will be conducted by the Mason City Veterans Association.

The family greeted friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Major Erickson Funeral Home, 111 N. Pennsylvania Ave.

Cary was born Feb. 23, 1946, in Mason City, the son of Ralph and Jeroldene (Goll) Stricker. He graduated from Mason City High School in 1964. Cary married Viola “Vi” Pinneke Dec. 27, 1965, in Mason City.

He served two years in the U.S. Army, and was stationed in Korea for one of those years. He returned to Mason City, and attended North Iowa Area Community College where he received a degree in heating and air conditioning technology. Cary later served as president of Air Care Inc., where he was co-owner. Cary was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. He loved older cars, especially his 1955 Chevy.

Cary is survived by his children, Jeffery Stricker of Des Moines, Bradley (Jodee) Stricker of Forest City; grandchildren, Shawna, Cody, Carter, Parker and Jared Stricker; father, Ralph Stricker of Mason City; one brother, Kenney (Cindy) Stricker of Champlin, Minn., a sister, Cyndra (Mike) Lingberg of McKinney, Texas; friend, Brenda Lein of Mason City; and many nieces and nephews.

Cary was preceded in death by his wife, Viola “Vi” Stricker in 2003, and mother, Jeroldene.
