Celebration of Life Service for Troy Andrew Sahr will be 11 a.m. Friday, September 19, 2014, at Praise Fellowship Church, 602 Central Avenue South in Dodge Center, MN, with Pastor Roger Langworthy officiating.

Visitation will be 9 a.m. until the time of service. A luncheon will be held following service.

A Celebration of Life Service for Troy Andrew Sahr will be 2 p.m. Saturday, September 20, 2014, at Faith Baptist Church, 1807 South Kentucky Avenue in Mason City, IA, with Pastor Scott Onofrio officiating.

Visitation will be 1 to 2 p.m. at the church. A luncheon will be held following service. Inurnment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery in Mason City, IA.

Troy Andrew Sahr, known as Andrew by his family, was born on April 12, 1994, in Rochester, MN, at Olmsted Community Hospital to Troy Alan Sahr and Lynn Denise DeRaad.

Andrew passed away at the age of 20 from an automobile accident in Rochester, MN, on Monday, September 15, 2014.

On July 6, 2000, Andrew trusted Jesus Christ as his Savior with the help of his Grandma Shirley. He was active in church youth groups throughout his teen years. Andrew graduated from Triton High School in 2012 while completing course work at RCTC. He continued his education at North Iowa Area Community College, where he earned his Associate of Arts degree.

He worked for Crossfit Credence, where he was a Certified Level 1 trainer. He also worked part time at JETS Gymnastics in Rochester. He made tremendous impact on the lives of many around him. Andrew also had an Olympic Weightlifting Certification. He was an amateur MMA Fighter through PHF Karate in Mason City, IA. He was an avid athlete and was always willing to help others, whether it was through his church youth program or his students that he coached at Crossfit Credence in Rochester. He was a member of Praise Fellowship Church in Dodge Center, MN and was active in young adult church groups.

Andrew is survived by his mother, Lynn DeRaad, Dodge Center, MN; father, Troy Alan Sahr and stepmother, Susan Sahr, Norwalk, IA; siblings, Jacob, Hana, Caleb, and Elia Sahr; maternal grandfather, Leslie DeRaad, Dodge Center, MN; paternal grandparents, Garry and Shirley Sahr, Mason City, IA; and grandparents, Leo and Barbara Massman, Waverly, IA. He was preceded in death by his sister, Bria Marie Sahr and maternal grandmother, Manuella (Mini) DeRaad.

Andrew was able to donate his eyes and, in doing so, someone else will be able to see.

Memorials may be directed to the family for future sponsorships for others to become Crossfit members and coaches.
