Ruth Ann Redeker, 86, of Mason City, died Tuesday, Sept. 13, 2016, at Mercy Medical Center-North Iowa.

Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Monday, Sept. 19, 2016, at Major Erickson Funeral Home, 111 N. Pennsylvania Ave., with Pastor Janet Dorenkamp, chaplain, Hospice of North Iowa officiating.

Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at Major Erickson Funeral Home.

Ruth was born March 5, 1930, in Mason City, the daughter of Harold and Claire (Julson) Davis and was baptized in the Assembly of God Church. She attended school in Mason City. Ruth married Donald L. Redeker Sept. 2, 1950, in Mason City. Ruth worked for Jacob E. Decker & Sons/Armour’s for nearly 35 years. She retired in November of 1983. Ruth was a member of the AFLCIO Labor Union. A few of her interests included her family, especially her grandchildren, Christmas Eve and family vacations, camping in Red Wing, Minnesota, cooking, bowling, teaching sewing and crafts and her dolls and bears.

Ruth is survived by her children, Deanna R. Raprager of Mason City, Kathy Jo (Wesley) Loeckle of Mason City, Randall R. Redeker of Mason City and Peggy A. (Roy) Vega of Mason City; 13 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; 9 great-great-grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Sandy Redeker of Mason City; 1 sister, Glinda (Jerry) Buirge of Jacksonville, Florida; special friend, Danny Solum and extended family members.

Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Donald; 3 children, Donald, Elizabeth and James; 3 sisters; 2 brothers; son-in-law, Louis Raprager Jr.; grandson, Douglas Earl Joyner Jr.; great great-grandson, Garret Donald Joyner.
