Renay E. Nestvedt, 37, of Mason City, died Wednesday (August 27, 2014) at home following illness.

Services will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday (September 5, 2014) at Trinity Lutheran Church, 213 N. Pennsylvania Ave., Mason City, with Pastor Dan Gerrietts officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.

Visitation will be held Thursday evening (September 4, 2014) from 6 until 8 p.m. at Hogan Bremer Moore Colonial Chapel, 126 3rd St. N.E., Mason City.

Renay was born June 7, 1977, in Mason City, baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith at Trinity. She attended school at Roosevelt Elementary through second grade, then with her family moved to Wichita, Kansas, until their return in 1991. She participated in Brownies, Girl Scouts, soccer, basketball, softball, tennis and orchestra in Wichita, being proud that she was awarded an All-State Wichita Symphony position. She graduated from Mason City HS where she was active in baseball, basketball, tennis, Orchestra and Jazz Band; later NIACC and BVU.

Her employment included HyVee customer service while in high school, and later Principal, V & M Farms, Wells Fargo and WalMart’s cash office for many years.

On June 29, 1996, Renay married Tom Nestvedt, and they were proud parents of three beautiful children, Tyler, Justis and Chase, all of whom she cherished.

Her sons were the light of her life. She was delighted most recently for her birthday party arranged by her oldest son, Tyler; sharing cooking skills, recipes and music with Justis; and being co-pilot with Chase on bumper cars and Ferris wheel at a weekend Adventureland getaway with her sons just days before she passed away.

Along with her sons, she is survived by parents Tom and Linda Sage; brother Matt (Amanda) and son Braydyn of Tucson; Aunt Lois (Serge) Saucke and family of Montreal; and Aunts and Uncles Don (Jessie) Sage, Jackie Carpenter, Bryan (Carol) Sage and Tammy (Terry) Claude and families, and the children of Ron Sage.

Renay was preceded in death by her Aunt Rhonda Saucke, Uncle Ron, Aunt Mary Elaine and her grandparents of Clear Lake and Mason City.

The family requests memorials be given to the Renay E. Nestvedt Memorial Fund.

A special thank-you is extended to Pastors Dan & Kathy and Trinity staff, Dr. Coddington, Iowa City Hospitals & Clinics and her special friend Randy. Your care and affection were genuine.
