Roy W. Scott, 86, of Clear Lake, Iowa, died Thursday, Feb. 20, 2003 at Mercy Medical Center North Iowa, Mason City, Iowa.

Funeral service was Monday, Feb. 24, at the United Methodist Church, Clear Lake, with the Rev. Jan Burnett officiating. Interment was in the Clear Lake Cemetery. Family suggests memorials to United Methodist Church, Clear Lake.

Roy was born Feb. 25, 1916 in Winnebago, Minn., the son of Walter and Lilly (Waldron) Scott.

Roy married Luceal D. Spilman on June 19, 1937 in Estherville, Iowa. He farmed for over thirty-one years, retiring in 1969.

Roy is survived by his four children, Jerry Scott and his wife, Zelda, Clear Lake, Russell Scott and his wife, Joyce, Mason City, Sharon Petersburg and her husband, Ray, Loveland, Colo. and Jan Lansink and her husband, George, Cedar Falls, Iowa; thirteen grandchildren, Terry Scott, Tami Cavett, Jason Scott, Joan Ziemke, Jane Bertram, Jennifer Davila, Jack Means, Shawn Petersburg, Kimberly Wolniak, Michelle Murray, Allison Bryson, Scott Gilroy and Tim Gilroy; twenty great-grandchildren; one sister, Beatrice Tracy, Moose Lake, Minn., along with many nieces and nephews and relatives and friends.

Ray was preceded in death by his parents; one brother; one sister; a grandson, Jerry Scott Jr.; a great-granddaughter, Kathryn and his wife, Luceal, on Sept. 13, 2002.
