Susan Marie Stinehart Davidson, 45, of Ottumwa, Iowa, formerly of Clear Lake, died Thursday, July 19, 2001, due to complications of diabetes and pneumonia, at the Ottumwa Regional Health Center.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, July 24, at the Ward-Van Slyke Colonial Chapel, 101 North 4th Street, Clear Lake. Burial was in Memorial Park Cemetery.

Susan was born on Nov. 6, 1955, at Strawberry Point, Iowa. When she was three months old, she was lovingly adopted by Orville and Dolores (Schloemer) Stinehart. Susan was raised in Clear Lake where she attended school and graduated in 1975. She spent most of her lifetime as a homemaker, taking care of her children. Susan enjoyed animals, especially dogs, and she loved to spend her free time talking with her friends.

Survivors include her children, Jason Allen and his fiancée, Amanda, of Des Moines, Iowa, Ed Allen and his wife, Melissa, of West Des Moines, Iowa, and Brian Allen and his wife, Bonita, of Ottumwa; three grandchildren, Melody and Mercedes Allen of Des Moines, and Madison Allen of West Des Moines; two sisters, Nancy Holman and her husband, Bob, of Clear Lake, and Sally Johnson and her husband, Mark, of Clear Lake; two nephews, Robert and Jameson Deckard of Clear Lake; and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Orville Stinehart on Sept. 17, 2000, and Dolores Stinehart on Dec. 20, 2000; her husband, Jim Davidson; and an infant son.
