Judith “Judy” K. English, 74, of Mason City, IA, died Thursday, April 13, 2017, at her home. Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, April 19, 2017, at Trinity Lutheran Church, 213 N. Pennsylvania Ave., Mason City, with Pastor Kathy Graves officiating. A private family inurnment will take place at Elmwood-St. Joseph Cemetery at a later date.

Memorials may be directed to the Judith English Memorial Fund in care of the family. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.majorericksonfuneralhome.com .

Judith was born Nov. 25, 1942, in Freedom Township, IA, the daughter of Gilbert and Laurnetta (Bruhn) Saxton. She graduated from Cylinder High School in 1961 and continued her education at Northwest Technical Institute in Minneapolis, MN. She worked as a lab and X-ray technician for 10 years before beginning her 30-plus-year career in home health care. She retired in 2004.

Retirement gave Judy the gift of time, providing the opportunity to travel and pursue new educational opportunities. She also enjoyed volunteering with RSVP (Retired Senior Volunteer Program) at NIACC, along with the Pen Pal Program and taking classes through NIACC’s Life Long Learning Institute.

She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Mason City where she was involved with the Health Cabinet. Throughout all these activities and adventures, what she enjoyed most was spending time with family and friends.

Judy is survived by 3 children: William English and wife Virginia of Mason City, Ann English Kruse and husband Michael of Stoughton, WI, and Jennifer Perman and husband Greg of Urbandale, IA; 2 grandchildren: Kayla English and Jack Perman; 3 siblings: Paul Saxton and wife Teresa of Emmetsburg, IA, Sandra Loebner and husband John of Bloomington, MN, and Vaughn Saxton and wife Bonnie of Arnolds Park, IA. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and a nephew: David Saxton.
