Margaret Louise Ebeling, 98, of Mason City, IA died Sunday, Jan. 15, 2017, at Good Shepherd Health Center.
A visitation will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. with a 5:30 p.m. scripture service on Friday, Jan. 20, 2017, at Fullerton Funeral Home, 123 Second St. S.E. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 21, 2017, at Epiphany Parish St. Joseph Church. Interment will follow at Elmwood-St. Joseph Cemetery.
Margaret was born on Dec. 5, 1918, near St. Ansgar, IA on a farm to Vern and Mabel (Basford) Warrington. She attended country school and graduated from St. Ansgar High School in 1936. Margaret then went on to attend one year of Hamilton Business College. She then worked for McMullin Company as a secretary.
On April 28, 1942, Margaret was united in marriage to Joseph Ebeling of Mason City at Holy Family Catholic Church. To their union two children were born and Margaret became a homemaker but helped out at Ebeling Meat Market when needed. She was very active in Girl Scouts as a Girl Scout Leader and Brownie Leader. Margaret was also active in the church; she was on the committee to furnish the new Convent at St. Joe in 1965.
In her free time she enjoyed: knitting, sewing, cooking or baking and reading. Above all else, Margaret loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She liked to visit with her family and friends.
Those left to cherish her memory include children, Jody (Dean) Yezek and James (Cindy) Ebeling; grandchildren: Jeffrey Ebeling, Mike (Heather) Yezek and Peter Yezek and great-grandchildren: Drake Ebeling, Evan Ebeling, Joseph Yezek, Matt Yezek and Sam Thompson-Yezek.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Vern and Mabel Warrington; siblings: Marilyn (Harold) Eube, Jacquelyn Warrington, Kenneth (Virginia) Warrington, Gerald (Emma) Warrington, Clifford Warrington, Orville Warrington; granddaughter, Kelly Jo Ebeling and three nieces and four nephews.
