NORTHWOOD --- Myrtle Marie Everhart, 76, of Northwood, died Monday (Dec. 9, 1996) at the Thorne Crest Retirement Center, Albert Lea, Minnesota.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 12, 1996, at the Conner Colonial Chapel, 99-11th St. S., with the Rev. Robert W. Luebert of the Northwood Baptist Church officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, Highway 18 West, Mason City.

Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. today and one hour prior to service on Thursday at the chapel.

Myrtle Marie Everhart was born on April 25, 1920, the daughter of William Earl and Lila (Lurth) Harris in Mason City. She attended and received her education in the Mason City School System.

She was united in marriage to Henry A. Everhart on Sept. 26, 1939 in Waterloo. He preceded her in death on Jan. 29, 1987. After their marriage together they farmed in the Bolan and Otranto area before moving to the Northwood area where they continued to farm until their retirement and moving into Northwood in 1974.

Myrtle also was a waitress at the Youngs Café and Midway Café in Northwood. She also worked for Thompson trucking and Drurey Lanes in Northwood and for Land O'Lakes in Albert Lea, Minn. She enjoyed fishing, crocheting, knitting, playing cards and bowling.

She was a member of the Northwood Baptist Church and the Northwood Senior Citizens Center in Northwood. She was a former member of Our Buddies VFW Memorial Post Ladies Auxiliary 36679 in Northwood and was a former member of Elk Creek Lutheran Church, rural Kensett.

Survivors include two sons, Marvin LeRoy Everhart and his wife, Shirley, of Hayward, Minn., and William Henry Everhart and his wife, Paige, of Buffalo, Wyo.; two daughters, Lori Jo Saltou and her husband, Steven, of Plymouth, Minn., and Patricia Ann Everhart of Rathdrum, Idaho; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; one brother, Lawrence Harris of Phoenix, Ariz; as well as other relatives and friends.

Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; one granddaughter; two brothers, Fred and Warren Harris; and one sister, Ella May Carrberry.
