Marjorie G. Curtis, 82, of Mason City passed away Sunday (October 27, 2013) at Mercy Medical Center-North Iowa, Mason City, after a long and courageous battle with cancer.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday (October 30, 2013) at Epiphany Parish - Holy Family Catholic Church, 714 N. Adams Ave., Mason City. Burial will follow in Elmwood-St. Joseph Cemetery, Mason City.

Visitation will be held Tuesday evening (October 29, 2013) from 5 until 7 p.m. at Hogan-Bremer-Moore Colonial Chapel, 126 Third St. N.E., Mason City, where the rosary will be recited at 6 p.m. followed by a scriptural wake service.

Should friends desire, memorials may be left in Marjorie's name in care of her family.

Marjorie was born on December 21, 1930, in Mason City, the daughter of Fred and Ida (Kolb) Currier. She graduated from Holy Family Catholic School in 1950.

On November 15, 1952, she married the love of her life, Roger L. Curtis. This union would be blessed with five children. After raising her family Marjorie went back to nursing school and graduated in 1980. She worked as an LPN at Good Shepherd Health Center in the Alzheimer's Unit.

Marjorie was a lifelong member of Holy Family Catholic Church. She enjoyed traveling, playing cards, watching the Minnesota Twins, spending time on her computer and wintering in Apache Junction, Arizona.

Those left to cherish her memory are her husband, Roger Curtis, Mason City; daughters, Jean Curtis, Hollowell, Maine, and Teresa (Mark) Buffington, Mason City; sons, Tom (Becky) Curtis, Mason City, Robert (Marcia) Curtis, Mason City, and Mark Curtis, Rochester, Minn.; grandchildren, Chad (Katie) Buffington, Osage, Jason Buffington, Mason City, Matt Buffington and his fiancé, Lauren Morgan, Cedar Falls, Jason (Michelle) Martin, Klamath Falls, Ore., Stacey Allen, Lovington, N.M., April Curtis, Lovington, N.M., Debra Curtis, Cherry Hill, N.J., Robert James (Melanie) Curtis, Bellevue, Neb., Crystal (John) Richards, Chicago, Ill., Adrianne Curtis, St. Louis Park, Minn., and Payton Curtis, Rochester, Minn.; and great-grandchildren Leila and Austin Buffington, Eliana Martin, Baelyn Petersen and Alex Gutierrez.

She is also survived by her sisters, Mary Ellen Hanson, Mason City, and Florence Kudej, Madrid; brother, Owen (Brenda) Currier, Mason City; brother-in-law, David (Mary) Curtis, Clear Lake; and many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Ida Currier; brother, Rev. Thomas Currier; sister and brother-in-law, Kathleen and Ralph Lockwood; and brothers-in-law, John Hanson, Don Kudej and Richard Curtis.
