Dale Allen Dorseth, 60, 704 S. 13th St., Clear Lake, IA, died Sunday, July 21 2013 at the Muse-Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit, Clear Lake, IA.

A Celebration of his Life will be held at Central Gardens, Clear Lake, IA with Dr. Reverend Rhoda Preston officiating. According to his wishes, he has gifted his body to the Des Moines Osteopathic School. Memorials may be given to the Dale Allen Dorseth Memorial Fund.

Dale was born in Des Moines, IA, the son of Walter and Katherine (Johnson) Dorseth.

He graduated from Clear Lake High School in 1971 and from Northwest Missouri State University in Maryville, MO with a horticultural degree.

Dale met Sheryl Halverson at college and they married August 15, 1981 in Denison, IA. They shared their life together in Maryville, MO, Shenandoah, IA where he worked for Henry Field, Salt Lake City, UT where he worked for Native Plants. This is where they were blessed with their two daughters. As their family grew, they wanted to move closer to family, so moved back to Shenandoah, IA where Paul was born. They moved to Clear Lake in 1996.

Dale enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening and loved animals especially his dogs.

Dale was a member of the Clear Lake United Methodist Church.

Dale is survived by his wife Sheryl Dorseth, Clear Lake, IA; three children Emily Mitchell, West Des Moines, IA, Erin (Ben) Nedved, Clear Lake, IA and Paul Dorseth, Hanford, CA; four grandchildren Evan Mitchell, West Des Moines, IA, Emma, Elexis and Elyn Nedved, Clear Lake, IA; Mother and Father-in-law Jan and Mac LaRue, Denison, IA; brother and sister’s-in-law Greg (Cathy) Halverson, Ames, IA, Annette (Larry) Boeck, Denison, IA, Claire (Rob) Boeck, Gilbert, IA, Alan (Diane) LaRue, San Diego, CA, Phillip LaRue, Tipton, IA and Janelle LaRue, Vancouver, WA; and several cousins, nieces and nephews.

Dale was preceded in death by his parents.
