Frances was born in Clear Lake on May 6, 1932. She graduated from Clear Lake High School in 1950 and was married to John Monaghen in Clear Lake, on Sept. 20, 1952.
Frances was very involved with the Catholic Church and had an active life of prayer. She loved her family, especially her children and grandchildren. She was totally committed to saving the unborn child from abortion and helping families with their children. She collaborated with others in building a home in Southern California helping women to keep their child rather than abort, called Mary’s Shelter. She was a real estate agent and for many years ran a private convalescent home for the elderly. She was at the bedside of many men and women who had no one to be with them or pray for them. She was a mother to all from the newborn to the elder.
She is survived by two daughters, Teresa Monaghen, of Omaha, Neb. and Julie Espinoza, of Los Angeles, Calif.; and her son, Jerome Monaghen, of St. Paul Park, Minn. She leaves behind five grandchildren, Kyle J. Monaghen, Barbara D. Monaghen Vetter, Katherine M. Espinoza, Delanie A. Espinoza and Paloma M. Espinoza; and one great-grandchild, Haddie Vetter.
Frances was preceded in death by her parents, Merle and Dorothea Davis; a brother, Dean; her husband, John Monaghen; and her son, Thomas.
