Friday, February 17, 2012MASON CITY — George Burmeister, former Mason City resident, passed away Feb. 2, 2012, at Icon Hospital in Humble, Texas.
George was married to Carolyn Sue Snyder June 6, 1964, at the First United Methodist Church, Mason City.
George was a former Globe Gazette employee after his graduation from Mason City High School in 1962. His recent employers were Executive Security of Houston, Texas.
He is survived by his children: William Burmeister of Pasedena, Texas; Lt. Shawn Burmeister of the U.S. Navy, Virginia Beach, Va.; and Ashley Burmeister of Porter, Texas; his sister, Louise Enright of Fairbault, Minn.; and six grandchildren.
He is proceeded in death by his wife, Carolyn (Snyder) Burmeister; his parents; Bill and Alma Burmeister; and in-laws Alton and Virginia Snyder, all of Mason City.
A Memorial Service will be planned in Mason City at a later date.
