MANKATO, Minn. - Alma Burmeister, 88, died Tuesday (Nov. 14, 2000) at the Oak Lawn Health Care Center in Mankato, Minn.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 17, 2000, at the Fullerton Funeral Home, 123 Second St. S.E. in Mason City, with the Rev. Paul L. Finger of St. Paul Lutheran Church officiating. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 4 until 8 p.m. today at the Fullerton Funeral Home, with a Moose Memorial Service at 6:30 p.m.

Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to direct memorials to the Alma Burmeister Memorial Fund.

Alma was born Dec. 2, 1911, the daughter of Frederick and Anna (Eihlers) Robeoltman, on the home farm near Rockwell. She attended school in Rockwell and later graduated from Rockwell High School. Following her schooling, she worked as an LPN at the Story Hospital for many years.

On Sept. 9, 1939, Alma was united in marriage to Bill Burmeister on the family farm. The couple lived and worked many years in the area. In June of 1997 Alma moved to Mankato, Minn., to be closer to her daughter.

Alma had a passion for taking care of others. She also found joy in gardening, especially nurturing her violets. She loved to play cards, dabble in crocheting and baking goodies for everyone to enjoy.

Alma was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Mason City, and the Women of the Moose.

Those thankful for having shared in Alma's life include her son, George Burmeister and his wife, Ginger, of New Caney, Texas; daughter, Louise Enright of St. Clair, Minn.; one brother, Fred Robeoltman of Rockwell; five grandchildren; John Enright and his wife, Kim, Mark Enright and his wife, Nicole, William Burmeister, Shawn Burmeister and his wife, Jenifer, and Ashley Burmeister; nine great-grandchildren; Elizabeth Enright, Hailee Enright, Tyler Enright, Kaitlyn Enright, Chloe Enright, Spencer Burmeister, Brandon Burmeister, Marcie Burmeister, W.T. Burmeister, and many nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Burmeister was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Bill, in 1980, six sisters, Martha, Lena, Emma, Gertrude, Anna and Marie; and one brother in infancy, Henry; and one cousin, Ferdinand Miller.
