Shirley graduated from Mason City High School. She was a homemaker most of her life, raising her four children.

Shirley was a member of the Clear Lake Christian Church where she was a member of the Busy Bee Club over 55 years. She liked keeping active by doing water aerobics and working in the yard and garden. Her favorite chore was to mow the yard with her Cub Cadet, which would take about four hours, but was so beautiful when it was done. She enjoyed traveling with family to Yellowstone National Park, by way of Bear Tooth Mountain; Veryl’s favorite drive. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren; which she referred to as “Our Very Special Times.”

Shirley is survived by three children, Donna (Gary) Hall of Garner, Robert Carr of Clear Lake, and Diane (Derek) Masterson of Eagan, MN; five grandchildren, Katherine Hove of Salt Lake City, UT, Rebecca Hove, Zachary Hove, Emily Masterson and Ian Masterson, all of Eagan; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Veryl Carr; a son Russell Carr, and a brother, Irvin Boyd.
