Molly was born at home July 19, 1933, in rural Mason City, Iowa, the daughter of Herman and Grace (Gildner) Hansen. She attended school in Plymouth, lettering in varsity basketball eighth through twelfth grades, graduating in 1951. Molly worked at the House of Vision from 1951-1953. Molly was an active member of Faith Baptist Church where she taught Sunday school, enjoyed the “Old Faithfuls,” and served in the Ladies’ Missionary Fellowship, spending countless hours writing cards and sending packages to missionaries and college students. She also volunteered in numerous ways at the Iowa Regular Baptist Camp in Ventura.
