“Clear Lake, April 5.—Funeral services were held Friday afternoon at the Lutheran church for Jens Lund Knutson,35, who died at his home in Janesville, Wis., following a major operation. The Rev. H. O. Urness, pastor of the Zion Lutheran church, officiated. Burial was made in Clear Lake cemetery.
Mr. Knutson was born April 19, 1894, at Herning, Denmark. At the age of 18 years he left his parents Ole Lund and Anne Christen Kuntson and came to America. He spent his first winter with his brother, Kundt, at Omaha, Nebr.
In the spring of 1913 they moved to Clear Lake where they remained three years. Following the occupation of a tillage and drainage contractor, he lived in the following communities, Forest City, Crystal Lake, Woden, Mason City, Eagle Grove, Lime Springs, Clear Lake and at present in Janesville, Wis.
On Dec. 20, 1922 he was married to Bertha Tegtmeyer, Clear Lake, formerly of Woden. Four children were born to t hem, two boys, Leroy, aged 5 and Carl Arthur aged 4; and two girls Mildred aged 6 and Gladys, aged 3.
Besides his children he is survived by his wife, Berta, four brothers and four sisters in Denmark, and one brother, Knudt Lund Knutson, Irvington, Nebr.”
